ISE Consultants is the culmination of years developing an understanding of the needs of executive managers in today's corporations. John A. Goocher - President

John Goocher has twenty years of telecommunications experience with leadership roles in Operations, Marketing, and Finance.  Prior to forming ISE Consultants, Mr. Goocher was Vice President of Marketing at CT Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTCI). In this role, John was responsible for all facets of marketing including product and market development, distribution design, advertising, and pricing.  Also, John had P&L responsibility for the long distance business, where he captured an industry leading 71% market share in the company's territory. He created and led two subsidiaries, one which delivered wireless broadband including voice over IP over wireless, and another which provided wired cable television service..

Prior to joining CTCI, John was one of the original members of the Sprint PCS organization and served as Finance Director and Senior Director of Sales during his three years at Sprint PCS. In his roles, John established two new regional finance organizations and recruited over 130 finance professionals. Also, he developed the distribution plan for markets encompassing 70 million people and designed the operational reporting metrics for Sprint PCS.  Prior to Sprint PCS, John spent 10 years with BellSouth working in several different areas including Mergers and Acquisitions, Accounting, Financial Management, and Network Operations for domestic and international business units.

John has advised numerous Boards and individual Directors throughout his professional career.  He has also been involved with several non-profit organizations including the Boy Scouts of America.

He is a graduate of University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Finance.


Donald A. Matz - Principal, Technology Services Division

Don Matz has twenty five years of experience with leading wireless and wireline companies directing all aspects of information technology. His unique perspectives derived from managing wireless company IT teams span post paid, prepaid, and pay-in-advance business models. Don's specialties include helping companies achieve strategic and tactical IT missions on IT Sarbanes Compliance issues, vendor selection processes and related implementations, as well as data warehouse development and interim VP of IT assignments.  Prior to joining ISE, Don orchestrated the successful development of the IT organization at US Unwired, a publicly traded Sprint PCS affiliate.  He developed all aspects of the IT infrastructure from the initial phases of the company in 1998 through the successful sale of the company in 2006 to Sprint PCS for $1.3 billion.

Immediately prior to joining US Unwired, Don was Director of Research and Development at Century Telephone. Don investigated, evaluated, and piloted new technologies to improve the productivity, time delivery, functionality, and quality of the IT systems. While at Century Telephone, Don held a number of positions including Director of Corporate Software, Director of Technical Services, as well as multiple programmer and analyst positions.  Through these roles, Don has developed software and IT infrastructure and, in turn, managed the teams that developed software and infrastructure.

Don is a graduate of Bradley University with a degree in Computer Science. In addition, Don has maintained and enhanced current skill sets through multiple certifications and on-going professional training.

Marie M. Goocher - Director, Marketing Services

Marie Goocher has over twelve years of experience in understanding and analyzing markets through both qualitative and quantitative research engagements. She has a thorough understanding of the qualitative research process and is most valuable interpreting the results of focus groups and designing mystery shopping programs for companies. She has designed programs and analyzed results for companies such as Host/Marriott and BellSouth in addition to numerous not-for-profit entities.

Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Marie was the leader of the first marketing information system implementation for what is now Cingular Wireless. She designed the system, developed the business case, prepared the ROI calculations, and led the team implementing the system. Prior to this role, Marie was an IT professional at BellSouth with sole responsibility for developing user requirements for an outsourced billing vendor with over 1 billion transactions each month.

Prior to her role at BellSouth, Marie was an IT professional at Southern Company where she was instrumental in developing human resource management training and documentation for subsidiary companies and aligning user requirements with IT functionality.

Marie holds an MBA in Marketing from Mercer in Atlanta where she graduated with honors.  She holds a BS in Information Management from Oklahoma State University.
